Griffith University Art Museum are calling for Front of House volunteers to the Art Museum’s public face by interacting with the public, welcoming and providing information about exhibitions and promoting the Art Collection. Volunteers are given comprehensive inductions, training, and ongoing support, and gain rare insights behind the scenes.
Volunteers – Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside
Now in its fifth year, Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside returns to City Botanic Gardens from 12-21 May 2023. Across ten nights in May, leading Australian contemporary artists and designers will transform Brisbane’s premier city gardens with large-scale installations, sculptures and projections. Museum of Brisbane, producer of Botanica 2023 on behalf of Brisbane City Council, is seeking expressions of interest for volunteers for the 2023 event.
Volunteers – SWELL Sculpture Festival, Gold Coast, QLD
Do you have an idea for a workshop or masterclass? A performance? An artistic project? Are you interested in working with SWELL to showcase your art or artistic project? SWELL fosters a spirited arts environment through high quality outdoor art, cultural experiences and temporary public art installations. SWELL is seeking expressions of interest from workshop facilitators in a variety of areas.
Volunteer Program – State Library of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD
The volunteers participate in both front-of-house projects such as providing building tours for visitors, assisting with exhibitions and music performances and back-of-house projects which include historical document transcription and working with the collections .
The volunteer program greatly enhances the capabilities of State Library and provides a very enjoyable and interesting way to become involved with and to support one of Australia’s great cultural institutions.
Volunteer or Intern – Sculpture on the Edge (SOTE)
Volunteering at SOTE is a great opportunity to meet artists, members of the public and enjoy the stunning grounds of Flaxton Gardens. Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, giving their time generously to support artists, the SOTE team and help visitors connect and enjoy the event.
SOTE offers internships to qualified undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates interested in the following areas: curation, creative producing, communications including journalism & digital engagement.

Peer Assessors – Arts Queensland
Peer assessors are individuals with specialist knowledge relevant to specific art forms and arts and cultural contexts. They provide independent reviews, moderation and recommendations on applications to Arts Queensland’s investment programs.
Arts Queensland is committed to best practice assessment processes that are transparent, efficient and accessible. We strive to maintain a diverse and representative pool of peer assessors, including consideration of location, cultural backgrounds, age, gender, ability and art form.
