Mural artist of 25 years, Mieke van den Berg swaps her brushes and ladders for performance, sculpture and immersion in her exhibition showing in Nambour at the Old Ambulance Station from July.
Officially opening at 6pm on 17 July “In-Between: [Re]Winding Life’s Thread” is the first solo outing for the Sunshine Coast based mixed media artist.
The exhibition marks a shift from her 25 years as a mural artist towards immersion, performance and sculpture.
A culmination of six years of study “In-Between: [Re]Winding Life’s Thread” presents the artist’s experiences of displacement and memory in 3Dimensional forms.
Take a seat, have a yarn and unwind while her performance pieces, installations and miniature worlds invite you to consider the familiar sensations of ‘home’ and those that are ‘in-between’.
Don’t miss the opening event on 17 July from 6pm to 8pm (bookings essential).
“In-Between: [Re]Winding Life’s Thread” continues until 21 August.
The Old Ambulance Station Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am – 3pm.
