Exhibition opening – Triple Treat featuring photography by Phil Robinson, painting by May Sheppard, and Linocut by Natasha Gibson Scott

Triple Treat is an art exhibition of three expressions of single images, in the mediums of photography, contemporary painting and linocut. Opening at the Old Schoolhouse Gallery, Cleveland Point, Saturday 2nd June at 5.30 and on display till 1st July.

Utilising their respective mediums this collaboration by three long term members of the Old Schoolhouse Gallery, results in a unique insight into the artists interpretation of wildlife in Redland City.

The exhibition is anchored around the photography of award winning Phil Robinson – who has spent years capturing the wildlife of the Redlands, Queensland and throughout Australia.

This exhibition illustrates photographic images, cleverly interpreted into truly contemporary paintings by artist wife May and additionally reinvented as linocuts by family friend Tash.

May Sheppard brings a lifetime of artistic painting experience to this exhibition. Phil’s photography, the expansive skies and Australia’s wonderful scenery, all help to create her ideas for paintings.

Natasha Scott continues to push the boundaries of her experience as a printmaker, paper-maker and book-binder. Tash offers workshops at the Old Schoolhouse Gallery and she will hold one day workshops on the 19th May, 17th June, 28th July, 19th August and 9th September. Visit old schoolhousegallery.org.au for more information, or contact Tash directly on spotticlogg@gmail.com, or 0423920071.

Supporting their love of wildlife these artists have offered three artworks, based on a single Koala image, as a set of works for first prize in a raffle running throughout June and July at the Gallery. Proceeds go to support the local Koala Action Group.
