ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
In 2023, the QRAA invited artists to enter work which considers the concept of ‘Perspective’ in its many facets, viewpoints, and nuances. The theme plays on a term known in the visual arts and relevant to our modern society.
Perspective features the winners’, highly commended and finalists’ works, selected by judges Jonathan McBurnie and Fiona Foley. The exhibition is comprised of 36 works, featuring a diverse range of mediums selected across nine award categories, showcasing the immense talent that exists throughout regional Queensland.

Participants will create an art zine that reflects the theme of “Resolution,” aligning with this year’s Queensland Regional Art Award guidelines. The zine will explore personal, societal, or abstracted interpretations of resolution, using the creative process to navigate and express these concepts in a meaningful way. This workshop is facilitated by previous QRAA winner, Anna Guthrie.

Your facilitator: Anna Guthrie is a contemporary visual artist based in Meanjin whose practice is focused on the exploration of experience and abstract self-representation in her ceramic practice.
Anna’s artistic practice has been distinguished by numerous accolades, including being Highly Commended in the Emerging Artist category of the Flying Arts Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA) 2023, and as a finalist over multiple years in the Moreton Bay Regional Art Prize, in addition to being recognised for Ceramic Excellence in 2023 as a finalist in the Ceramic Arts Queensland Siliceous Award.
Anna is a Doctor of Visual Arts candidate at the Queensland College of Art, with a focus on the intersection of exploratory art practices in her work as a ceramic artist.
Anna’s workshops are known for their inclusive and participatory ethos, fostering environments where creativity and personal narratives can flourish. Her upcoming workshop in Charleville as part of the Multicultural Festival, will guide participants through the process of producing an art-zine to explore ideas around the theme of “Resolution,” which is the theme for the 2024 Flying Arts Regional Art Prize.
Further underscoring her commitment to regional voices, Anna’s collaboration with the Queensland State Library to include regional zines in their collection provides workshop participants with the unique opportunity to have their creations archived, ensuring their stories reach a broader audience.
Join Anna in this engaging workshop to explore the art of zine-making, connect with fellow creatives, and delve into innovative and expressive techniques focused on the theme of “Resolution.”
