QRAA Young Artist Award Solo Exhibition Opening

As part of the prize for winning the Young Artist Award at the 2025 Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA), Kathryn Neilsen presents ‘Natured & Nurtured’, a two-week solo exhibition at Land Street Gallery.

Kathryn Neilsen is an emerging artist from Ipswich, working with photography and painted media to explore elements of nature and existence. She has a keen interest in trees, and creating out in nature, both as artist and as subject. Neilsen graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and has successfully held two solo shows this year. Her show at Land Street Gallery is a continuation of her work that won the Queensland Regional Art Award, exploring the connections between body and landscape. 

The exhibition will run from 5 – 15 August. 

Kathryn’s winning work of the Young Artist Award is ‘Cabbage Tree Creek’ 2025. This work is currently on tour across the state as part of the QRAA Touring Exhibition (locations here).
