Meet by Flying Arts - 19 August

Join leading Queensland gallerists Jack Fitzwalter (Land Street Gallery) and Michael Eather (FireWorks Gallery) for an engaging conversation about Queensland’s arts landscape. Drawing on their experience as both artists and gallery directors, Jack and Michael bring a broad perspective on what it takes to build a sustainable creative practice, develop strong gallery relationships and create opportunities for your work.

Michael Eather is the Director of FireWorks Gallery, a commercial enterprise established in 1993. Born and educated in Tasmania, Michael lived and travelled in the Northern Territory before settling in Brisbane. Since 1985, he has continued to work as a multidisciplinary artist, gallerist, project curator and consultant, with extensive experience across contemporary Indigenous art forms and issues.

Jack Fitzwalter is the Director of Land Street Gallery. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Queensland College of Art before working as a primary and tertiary arts educator. His practice involves haptic techniques, using masking matrices of colour to create uniform illusionary surfaces. Land Street Gallery welcomes artists presenting current bodies of work, experimental exhibitions and community-led exhibitions.
