Jonathan completed a PhD at the University of Sydney in 2014, charting the shifting role of drawing in the digital age, emphasising the discipline’s ongoing tenacity through tactility and adaptability. Jonathan is regularly involved in a variety of artistic, academic and curatorial projects.

Currently he is working on his 23rd solo exhibition, a graphic novel, and a follow up to 2023’s Litcomix: Literary Theory and the Graphic Novel (co-written with Adam Geczy).
