Flying Arts Alliance is seeking a motivated and engaging RAF Program Lead to effectively lead the annual Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Grants Program and the new RAF Boost Program of competitive grants in Queensland, in accordance with the Regional Arts Fund Guidelines.

As a RAF Program Lead, you will work both independently and as a member of a small dynamic team under the direction of the Executive Officer and supported by the RAF Administrator, this is an exciting opportunity to plan and lead RAF Programs.  A key member of the Program team, this role works collaboratively with Marketing & Communications Lead and Finance Officer to deliver RAF Programs to fulfil the role of Flying Arts Alliance as the Regional Program Administrator for Queensland.

This is a strategic program role with an opportunity to engage with the arts sector in Queensland and identify sector trends to inform the grants program; identify and present to sector networking opportunities on the grant program, and manage the new RAF renewal category process including invitation, EOI and submission to the national assessment panel. You will work within a SmartyGrants environment and manage the portfolio budget. 

This opportunity will suit an organised and flexible multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong understanding and knowledge of project team management including budget allocation. Your highly developed interpersonal skills and professionalism will support you communicating fluently internally and with a diverse range of service providers and client groups, to deliver engaging RAF Programs.  Knowledge of regional and remote Queensland would be an advantage.

What you will need to have to be successful: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in arts administration or similar
  • 3-5 years experience in leading state or national programs of engagement  
  • 3-5 years experience in leading arts teams and projects 
  • Knowledge of regional arts policy and arts funding environment
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills  
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills 
  • First class customer service ethos  
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small dynamic and agile team 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and share knowledge  

You will also need to have a permanent right to work in Australia and ability to work outside regular office hours if and as required from time to time, a current driver’s licence and ability to undertake interstate travel if required.  Knowledge/experience in CRMs and database/grant management software would be an advantage.
