Announcement: Successful Small Schools 2019

Flying Arts Alliance is proud to announce the successful applicants for the 2019 Small Schools Fund. After reviewing and considering 24 applications in total, the following projects have been granted financial support from Flying Arts Alliance.

Printmaking Incursion at Avondale State School

Inspired by scientific exploration processes, Avondale invited Kay Watanabe to facilitate a printmaking workshop on how to record observations artistically.

Picture this: Illustrations of Ravenswood

As part of the 2018 Small Schools Fund, Lee Fullarton travelled to Ravenswood to run a three-day workshop, tying in with the town’s celebration of 150 years of settlement and community.

Small Schools Outcome – Art Meets Science with Eco-Dyeing and Printing in the Bush

Flying Arts facilitator Claudia Husband travelled to the charming South Burnett region to explore eco-printing and dyeing with primary school students as part of the Small Schools Fund Program.

The Small School Mentorship Program (SSMP) is in its second year. Thus far, 2016 has seen four small school/artist collaborations.

Small Schools: December

Flying Arts Alliance Small Schools Mentorship Program saw another 5 schools create some wonderful Teacher/Artist Collaborations with visits to implement these in-school collaborations between August and November. Once again, Visual and Media Arts was used to apply direct links to what was being studied in the classroom; in this case Science and History subjects building rich curriculum experience for students and giving teachers a model of utilising artist as a resource.
