Workshop Title: Picasso's Foot: Encounters with Art

Workshop Summary: This workshop is about learning from history. It is intended as a series of experimental workshops that are a unique blend of art appreciation and practical experimentation. These workshops are designed for those who are quite experienced and who are interested in encountering ideas, concepts and techniques of mainstream 20th century art. The workshop includes a slide talk on the histories related to Modern art and practical experimentation with media, techniques and subjects typical for the topic of the workshop. There are four workshops in this series each of two days duration. They can be taken over a period of years and each can be extended into follow up session depending on the group’s interest.

Workshop Title: Colour Explored
Tutor: Anneke Silver
Workshop Summary: This workshop exclusively explores the use and meaning of colour including value, chroma and pigments in various media, and demonstrates how to develop individualised colour palettes. Participants will examine the nature and use of colour and its conceptual and emotional aspects in contemporary art. This workshop has the possibility of three extensions in which more complex matters of colour can be experimented with depending on the need and desire of individual groups. These include: tonal keys, creating colour families and colour keys from nature.
