Artist Statement

Since completing a Visual Arts Degree in 1994, I have produced 14 solo exhibitions and exhibited in Japan and Shanghai. Since then my paintings have slowly evolved from the figurative aspects of earlier years, to semi-abstract landscape, and continue to explore our ongoing relationship to the environment. Investigation and research are strong components of my arts practice and I am currently writing a book titled Gleaner or Gladiator, on the creative process as experienced through an artist’s eyes. My paintings are showcased in a folio of contemporary Australian art, published by the Australian Trade Commission in USA, and in 2006 I have offers to exhibit in both Los Angeles and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Having completed a Graduate Diploma in Further Education in 2002, I am available for artist-in residencies and workshops in freelance tutoring.
