Access Arts works in partnership with people experiencing disability or disadvantage and their communities to provide access to arts and cultural services, workshops and events. It offers entry level workshops, training and employment pathways and mentoring to artists. It also works with arts and cultural venues and festivals to promote and support accessibility, providing services such as disability awareness training and assistance to develop and implement disability action plans on a fee for service basis. Access Arts recognises the value of working with regional and remote communities by invitation to deliver sustainable arts and cultural projects developed in partnership with communities and tailored to meet their unique needs. It is currently developing a number of regional arts projects in partnership with Flying Arts.

We recognise the value of working with regional and remote communities by invitation to deliver sustainable arts and cultural projects developed in partnership with communities and tailored to meet their unique needs.

Partnerships are an integral part of our philosophy, particularly when working in regional Queensland, as we believe that organisations and individuals are best placed to know and understand their communities. Ways in which Access Arts can add value include:

• Assisting with the development of funding applications to support the delivery of arts and cultural activities.

• Training and employment of arts and cultural workers from local communities as a component of delivering regional projects.

• The SAFE fund which enables emerging and professional artists to apply for up to $1000 to support their career development. (Applications for 2009 have closed and will reopen in 2010) Visit www.accessarts.org.au for details.)

Membership enables you to receive information on Access Arts’ programs and a monthly newsletter. Individual membership - $5, organisational membership - $55. For further information on membership benefits, visit www.accessarts.org.au or call us on 1300 663 651 (local call cost).
