The Queensland Regional Art Awards is an annual visual arts prize and exhibition for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland. The Awards bring visual artists together from around Queensland to showcase, support and celebrate regional arts and artists and the extraordinary places in which they live. In 2010 the Regional Art Awards will again be a hallmark event in the Flying Arts calendar. The refreshed new look awards will begin as an online exhibition of the work of all entrants (August 2010), to be followed by a curated Queensland regional touring exhibition (from February 2011). In 2010 the theme ‘Our Place’ aims to celebrate the richness and diversity that is found in the regional and remote landscape and community life (see Entry form for more details).
