Some of the feedback from the 2011 Artiz participants...
“Overall the week was a really informative and inspiring experience. I will come away with pages of notes in my art diary and further knowledge to guide me in the journey i choose to pursue after year twelve.” Natasha, Cairns, Year 12
“This week has been one of the best in my life. It's given me a whole new perspective on art. I really hope that next year it's just as close or closer, because I couldn't get all the way out to a city like Brisbane.” Claire, Cairns, Year 11
"I enjoyed the information sessions because I learnt a lot. It was good getting advice from professional artists and people in art related businesses and learning what you need to do to start a career in the arts" Kate, Mackay, Year 12

This year the annual gathering of gifted and talented young artists aged 15 -18 years old from Queensland high schools around the state took place in Townsville, in conjunction with James Cook University.
This four day visual arts event featured a stimulating program of hands-on creative experiences as well as information, expertise and resources to provide students with a full picture of training, education and career opportunities. Top line artists, arts educators and special guests will all contribute to a high quality program designed to provide a platform for future practice, education and career.
Artiz is a must do program for young artists looking for professional training and career direction. It is run as a non-residential day program with students committed to the full four days of activities and will be back in 2012.
