Playing with puppets: body shield puppetry Wanda Bennett Aimed at primary school students, this workshop is an introduction to large-scale mask-making, movement and performance skills. Using recycled cardboard and newspaper as a base the students will create body size masks, with exaggerated 3D features. The finished mask is then “played” with and different methods of movement are explored. PS Download Wanda's outline here
Playing with puppets: shadow puppetry Wanda Bennett Working in small groups participants will choose a story for their shadow performance. This “basic story” (approx. 3 – 5 minutes) may be taken from a book, a poem or may be created from the students’ imagination. After creating puppets the stories are then narrated or performed to music. Participants need basic scissor skills.
