Creative Generation

This week-long workshop is for the winners of the Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design Exhibitions across the state (previously the Education Minister’s Award for Excellence in Art). 

Creative Generation recognise and promote excellence in senior visual arts education throughout Queensland schools. This Program has been conducted annually since 1990 and has helped raise community awareness about the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence and the high standard of arts education in Queensland secondary schools.

Award recipients come to Brisbane during September, as ambassadors for their regions. They participate in five days of activities, organised by Flying Arts, including gallery and studio visits,workshops with professional artists, discussions and tours.

This successful event was held on November 22, 2008; possibly to be repeated in November 2009; Flying Arts and Arts Queensland coordinate writing workshops  for senior secondary students from Queensland, on the topic of Art. Publication produced by Eyeline.
